Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons doesn't work here.
You won't find a "Comic Book Guy" behind the counter who makes you feel bad for loving your favorite titles.
Instead you will find a friendly knowledgeable staff that cares about helping you find something you'll love.
Love My Little Pony? We'd love to hear which of the Mane 6 is your favorite. And we have hundreds of MLP comics and trades to choose from.
Can't get enough gruesome horror comics? We'd love to share some of our recent favorites like Regression and Spread.
Love DC and hate Marvel Comics? (or vice versa?) There's no judgment here. We are happy to help you find that next story you won't be able to stop talking about.
Absolutely.
We purchased nearly 1,500 collections of comic books in our first three years, totaling over 150,000 comics. We've also purchased over 200 collections of Funko Pop! figures.
If you have items to sell, or just want to trade some things you don't need any more for new additions to your collection, just let us know.
Yes we do. There's no charge for us to hold monthly titles for pick up in store. As long as you are getting at least 5 comics a month and pick them up every few weeks,
Customers with larger pulls are eligible for free Previews each month and free bags and boards for their comic books.
Not currently.
We won't start doing mail order sales until we feel we can provide the same level of customer service there as we do in the store.
But it is something we plan in the future.
Yes. It's true. We are responsible for bringing the Truckee Meadows Collection to market.
The CGC 9.2 Fantastic Four #1 headlined the collection, and broke the all-time record for an FF comic, selling for 1.5 million dollars through Heritage Auctions.

The collection was accumulated by a collector starting in the mid-1950s purchasing new releases off the rack. The early books are in low grade, but after a time, they became more careful with their comics and grades are consistently high grade by 1962. The collector stopped acquiring books in the summer of 1965.
Sometime in the early 60s, after making the transition to keeping their own books in nice shape, the collector began acquiring Golden Age books secondhand. The books from 1940-1954, acquired in the early 1960s are in better condition than the original owner books from 1955-1958.
As a long-time DC collector prior to Marvel's re-emergence in 1961, the collection is much heavier on DC titles than Marvel titles. The bulk of the Marvels in the collection are from the year 1965.
Viewing comics as something "worth collecting" by the early 1960s, the collector routinely bought multiple copies of the same issues. Most are just 2 or 3, but some have 5, and at least one had 7 copies.
Stored in the mild, very dry climate of the Truckee Meadows, nearly all the Silver Age comics feature White Pages, including the first 38 in a row graded by CGC. The Golden Age comics, acquired secondhand in the 1960s are mostly OW/W with a few White.
There were roughly 1100 comics in the collection. Approximately 400 low to mid grade Silver Age from 1954-1959. Approximately 400 high grade Silver Age from 1960-1965. And approximately 300 Golden Age of varying grades.
The record-breaking CGC 9.2 Fantastic Four 1, with White Pages, was offered in the Heritage Signature Auction in April 2022, and shattered the previous record of $264,000 for a Fantastic Four comic by selling for
$1.5 million
We will be offering many books from the collection over the course of the next few years. The best examples will be offered through Heritage Auctions. But we will be selling many of issues ourselves, some slabbed by CGC and some raw.
The collection has been previously featured on KOLO-TV, here: https://www.kolotv.com/2022/04/20/finding-gold-comic-books/
